About 20 years ago, I began my PhD at Imperial College London. Some of the first papers I read were influential works from the Annual Review of Fluid Mechanics: Bearman (1984) – Vortex Shedding from Oscillating Bluff Bodies; Williamson (1996) – Vortex Dynamics in the Cylinder Wake; and Williamson & Govardhan (2004) – Vortex-Induced Vibrations.
Today, I am thrilled to announce that I’ve just published my own paper in the same prestigious journal, titled Vortex-Induced Vibrations of Flexible Cylinders in Cross-Flow, which will appear in Volume 57, January 2025.
Back then, I could never have imagined that I would one day contribute to the ARFM myself!
